Katarina was the highlight for us. She made sure breakfast was great and shared all the advice we needed to explore Lake Como. She’s such a kind, honest person, and we really appreciated her. The hotel is very clean, good value, and has an old-school feel. We’d happily stay again. Thanks for everything, Katarina, and good luck with the chickens! I’d hoped to eat on a balcony overlooking Lake Como, but that wasn’t possible, probably because it was too cold. That was a bit disappointing. I also thought the pillows were like cotton balls stuffed into a case, though I later spotted a regular one in the wardrobe. Oops.

The hosts are super friendly, and the rooms are spacious and clean. It’s dog friendly too. You’re very close to the lake, with an authentic local bar and a pleasant terrace just across the road.

The owners were really nice and even suggested cycling routes. I could keep my bike in my room overnight, which was handy. Very clean and great value for the price. Thanks a lot.

Breakfast was a real treat, especially having a great cappuccino on the terrace right above the lake. The local products were excellent, prepared better than at some five star hotels. The cost was reasonable compared with other places around the lake, and the guest house had some of the benefits of both a hotel and a home stay. The family running El Doorado are kind and thoughtful. When we asked at the last minute for birthday candles, they said no problemo and I’m sure they went out to buy them just for us. The room and everything else was clean and comfortable. From this peaceful little village, the views are lovely, other tourist spots aren’t far away, the train station is a two minute walk, and hiking is easy to get to. Lake Como was lovely, and this family made the trip even more memorable. Thanks for all the advice and for making our journey unforgettable.
