Camping Rose

After a lovely lunch at the cafe next door, my partner and I wanted to have a quick look around the campsite before booking for several friends. A man stopped us as soon as we stepped in and, in an aggressive tone, said we couldn’t enter unless we were campers. We explained that we were considering booking, but he said the guests wouldn’t like us looking around. He raised his voice and became quite aggressive. I understand wanting to protect guests’ privacy and security, but there was no need to be threatening. It was very upsetting, and the bad manners have put us off booking completely. We’re a middle-aged couple and really don’t look like troublemakers. The owner’s response proved my point. It seems I’m not the only reviewer who has mentioned rudeness. Ah well. Good luck.

We stayed in a Coco Sweet as a family of four. The beds were comfortable and everything was clean. The kitchenette had a microwave, electric stovetop and utensils, and they supplied dish soap and a sponge. There was plenty of parking outside the camp, plus hot water at the toilet and washbasin. The staff were accommodating, and our stay was perfect. We cooked our own food, so we didn’t try the restaurant.

I don’t usually write reviews, but I wanted to let others know what we experienced at Camping Rose. The room we were offered was dirty, with hair all over the bed, and had a terrible smell. Airing it out for two hours didn’t help much. We couldn’t leave the windows open overnight because of all the flies, so we decided to leave. When we first asked to change mobile homes, the desk staff and even the manager spoke to us in an insulting way. I absolutely can’t recommend this place. From me, it gets zero stars and a bad review.

The owners of this campsite were the rudest people I’ve ever met. When we booked, they hadn’t mentioned a deposit or that they would need passports for all the guests. They asked for both, and the owner called us “CATZO”. Check-in was listed as available until 10pm, but we were told reception closes at 9:40. They said we could go to any hotel because hotels have 24-hour check-in. The receptionist was also very rude and racist towards people who don’t speak Italian. It’s hard to explain just how bad the service was.
