Hotel Ai Sette Nani

We stopped for dinner here on a Tuesday while travelling through Croatia, Slovenia, and Italy. The food was amazing. Highly recommended!

The rooms are roomy and clean. We had a bedroom with a bed and a sofa, which worked really well for two adults and two kids. It’s a cozy spot for a trip and close to the motorway. I’d recommend it.

We were there for dinner with friends we hadn’t seen in ages, and it was a lovely choice for the occasion. We came only for the restaurant, not to stay at the hotel. There were six of us and we wanted a few dishes to share, so the waiter helped us choose. He was funny, attentive, and knew the menu well. The place feels spacious and classy, but the prices are quite reasonable. We stuck to fish, starting with mixed shellfish, some cooked and some fried, plus vegetables. The mushrooms were my favorite. Then came baked sea bream with potatoes. Everything tasted fresh and carefully prepared. I enjoyed the whole meal, including the homemade tiramisu and the local digestives afterward. Next time I’m in Trieste, I’ll come back.

The staff and owner are always friendly and welcoming, so this is my regular place for a good meal near home. I especially like their pizza, which is my favorite in Duino Aurisina, but there’s much more on the menu, including plenty of fish and meat dishes. They also have a great salad bar, with the waiter serving whatever you ask for.
