The reception and bar staff were all really friendly. There are several ablution blocks, so you don’t have far to walk, along with a wash point, drinking water and a camper service area. Pitches are a good size and have trees for shade in summer. Dogs are welcome around the site apart from the pool, though there’s a dog-friendly part of the beach. There’s 6A electric too. A great spot to spend a few days in a van.

The location was handy for Paestum, a few water parks, and even a day trip to Pompeii, which wasn’t too far away. We had what we needed from the on-site shop, and other shops and a pharmacy were nearby for anything specific. The facilities were good, with decent toilets, showers and washing-up area. The pool was nice too, just remember you need swimming caps!

The beach is pretty poor, but this region has plenty of interesting places to see. It’s a good base for the Amalfi coast, Pompei and the area between Agropoli and Sapri. The camping was better than I expected. It isn’t especially big or modern, but it’s clean and the pool area is nice. The Happy Camp mobile home was much like the standard ones at other campgrounds.

The mobile homes are small but decent, though things feel a bit cramped. The campsite is nicely organised, maybe too much so. Sheets and towels can only be paid for in cash, so bring some or find an ATM. The pool attendants were a whole thing. They were constantly blowing their little whistles, while checking social media on their phones. One told my 6-year-old off for jumping into the water, but ignored another small child who actually tripped and fell into the pool right in front of her. Five minutes later, her colleague whistled at me for literally walking into the deep end, saying that counted as jumping, though the pool rules don’t say that’s forbidden. I doubt they could actually help someone who needed assistance. It’s absolutely ridiculous and takes the fun away for kids.

There’s a lovely pool, and a free bus to the beach if you need it. Paestum’s history goes way back, so visit the temples there.
