We were passing through on the way home from vacation and needed somewhere to stay nearby. We hadn't realized the studio was inside the art gallery, so stepping in was a real surprise. Mrs. Alessandra was exceptionally kind and happy to answer our questions. The place was spotless and thoughtfully equipped with everything, from linens and towels to condiments, detergents, body care items and breakfast snacks. It's also very practical in terms of space and how it's set up. We were completely satisfied and impressed, and will definitely stay in touch for the future.

The welcome was friendly, but not very professional. Getting to the room was awkward and indirect, even though it was supposedly accessible straight from the garden. The bathroom was outside the room, which was impractical, and it was old, inconvenient, and badly in need of a full overhaul. There wasn't even a toilet paper holder. It also didn't match the bathroom in the photo, which seemed to show the other room. The wooden counters had unpleasant, unhygienic-looking plastic covering them. Some of the furniture choices, like the bookcase behind the bed, added to a general sense of neglect and poor hygiene. I'd avoid it if possible.

It's a lovely villa with a garden and parking, and the owner is wonderful. The rooms have a bathroom and kitchen, and the place is convenient for a supermarket and restaurants, as well as not far from Empoli's historic centre. There are two rooms. The only drawback is that the bathroom is just outside the room.

There were cockroaches in my dirty room, and the staff offered no real help. They accused me of making it up to avoid paying. As if I'd waste my time over the room fee. I paid right away, but on principle I didn't stay.
