The studio is airy and lovely, with a balcony right in central Enna. Getting our luggage from the apartment to the car park was a hassle, though, and communication with the owners was difficult. The apartment is upstairs, and the owners have the key for the special luggage lift. We messaged the day before to confirm checkout time but heard nothing until after we’d left, so we had to carry our cases down all the stairs. The parking spot isn’t very far, but there are more steps on the way. It’s a beautiful apartment, but not a good choice for anyone with mobility issues.

This little family hotel is right in the centre. The owners were very helpful and accommodating, and gave us lots of information about the city. Rooms are clean, modern and thoughtfully furnished. The breakfast room catches the morning sun and looks out across the Enna rooftops. Do book a table at the family’s restaurant: it has a classy interior, a lovely garden and fresh, delicious dishes cooked by the mother, with a menu that changes daily. Definitely recommend it.

The room had a decent amount of space, and the woman who met us was quite nice. But when we emailed about the broken air conditioner, she never replied. We had to leave the windows open to keep cool, and the noise outside went on well past midnight. The mini fridge was broken too. The rooms feel dated, and there didn’t seem to be any staff based there. They only provided a couple of soap dispensers in the bathroom, no toiletries or water. For what we paid, it felt a bit like a hostel at hotel prices. The old-fashioned key lock on our room also didn’t feel very secure. The building has apartments on the lower floors, and their residents smoked heavily. We had to pass through cigarette smoke while climbing three or four flights of stairs to our room. We were told to leave the car in a lot down the hill and use the free shuttle to Enna alta because of the narrow streets. That worked well on Saturday, but nobody mentioned that the shuttle doesn’t run on Sundays. After waiting at the stop until it was clear it wasn’t coming, I had to walk down the hill to get the car, leaving my wife in the square with our two-year-old and our luggage. The streets really weren’t that narrow.

The owner was delightful, and the welcome and hospitality were so kind. We had a spacious, clean room, and breakfast had a good range of options. A great place to stay in Enna. Be sure to try their restaurant too, Bistro Paradiso, in an enchanting setting.
