The town itself is a sweet medieval spot, and the view over the coast from Sicily's northwestern corner might be the best around.

The staff are warm and very helpful, and prices seem about average. Breakfast is okay, though there's not much on offer. The room is modest in size, so it's fine for a few days. The setting has huge potential, with nature all around and a breathtaking view, but the grounds need more care, the pool and shared spaces should be cleaner, and the property needs renovation.

Erice is an easy ten-minute walk away, and we paid much less than at other places nearby. Even during the hottest week of the year, we were comfortable without air conditioning. Our room and bathroom were small but clean, towels were replaced every day, and I might suggest a few updates to make the rooms nicer. The property is lovely, with a generous, varied breakfast, private parking, and a large pool overlooking the Egadi Islands. We ate at the restaurant several times and really enjoyed the food. All the staff were welcoming and helpful, especially Davide, who's a truly kind man. One tip: skip the dirt road going downhill and use the second entrance, which is much easier.
