Hotel Villa Soligo - Small Luxury Hotels of the World

The bathroom fan was very noisy, and the gym is down in the cellar with no daylight. The so-called spa is just a sauna, and renting it costs 50E. Bicycles are twice the price, too. We came expecting somewhere quiet, but there was a wedding that day. Nobody warned us, and our room was right above the party. The only offer from the staff was one cookie and two bottles of water. Unbelievable. It wasn't worth it. There are plenty of better places in Veneto, so keep looking.

The prosecco tasting at the property was the highlight for us. It was really informative. We stopped here for a night on the way from the Dolomites to Venice airport and had a lovely stay. The staff were attentive and helpful, greeting us and taking our things right away. I'm not sure what the complaints about bad service are about. Frederico was the best at the prosecco tastings. He was friendly, personable, and knew so much. The staff were great. The room had a few disappointing details for an SLH: no hand soap by the bathroom sink, nearly empty shower soap with a broken pump, and only one bath towel. The toilet kept running after each flush unless we jiggled the handle. It was also warm and stuffy, and the room still needs AC in October. Leaving the windows open let bugs in.

The stunning Ristorante Tino was the saving grace of our two nights in a Junior Suite. The Villa itself is lovely, but the website makes the offer sound bigger than it is. There isn't a vineyard nearby, and when we arrived on Saturday afternoon the Spa and Sauna area was closed. Use had to be booked and cost Euro 30 a head, while bicycles were Euro 60 a day. The sauna is tiny, too. Veneto has plenty of great Spa hotels, so this Villa should rethink what it offers.
