Villa Silvana

The hosts have thought of so much to make everyone comfortable. Bedrooms and bathrooms are pretty and well appointed, and the kitchen equipment is excellent. We loved the secluded pool area, which small children can’t get into, as well as having three large terraces for the whole group to enjoy or for a bit of privacy. The information about the area was the best we’ve had at any villa, and the recommended restaurants and shops were varied and excellent. It’s a beautiful villa in the hills, with an amazing sea view. Couldn’t recommend it more.

The view across the olive groves to the sea was good for the soul. With several terraces, we could find a nice spot for morning coffee or a glass or two of wine with dinner. The villa is quiet and secluded but still close enough to local villages for day trips and evening meals, and there are lovely towns and beaches a short drive away. You do need a car. Our Fiat 500L rental worked for four adults and two big suitcases. We were four couples and just had an amazing stay at Villa Silvana in Puglia. It’s laid out over three levels, which you can rent together or separately, and the renovation is to a high standard while still feeling like home. There’s nearly a bathroom for every bedroom, which is great for an Italian villa. The pool is huge, with lots of space to sunbathe at a distance, and it’s gated, so I’d feel safe bringing my grandchildren. We also felt very Covid safe, with plenty of room to keep apart. Going out was stress free, since face coverings were the norm and very fashionable, as you’d expect in Italy.

The views are unique, and there’s a fantastic large pool with plenty of space in the solarium and relaxation area. The property is in a strategic spot, just steps from Locorotondo, Martina Franca, Ostuni, Cisternino, Fasano, and Savelletri.

You can’t really judge something sublime. It’s the high point of everything, outside the world, outside time, beyond it all. A refuge from life, work, even yourself. It’s not something to review or simply experience, it’s something to live as fully as you can. That’s not a suggestion, it’s a command.
