The island of Favignana is known as the “farfalla” (butterfly) of the Egadi islands due to its shape. Its ancient name of Aegusa underlines this characteristic, while its current name derives from the Favonio (foehn) wind which blows in from the west, facilitating the mild climate on the island. It is here, in this small yet great pearl of Sicily, that we have opened our apartments dedicated to high class hospitality, in line with the taste and style which distinguish Firriato. The campsite is one of the cheapest places to stay on the island, so in some ways you get what you pay for. The staff were fairly friendly, and the place could be quite nice if it were better looked after. We slept in a so-called chalet, basically a wooden shack. That was manageable, but it wasn’t clean, there were cobwebs, and they didn’t give us blankets at first even though we were there well into October. The toilets were worse: they went uncleaned for days and had plenty of cockroaches. Showers cost extra each time. During our four-day stay, they didn’t work one day, and another day the water was cold. Towels weren’t provided or available to rent, so bring your own.

Everyone here treated me with such kindness. The staff, facilities, and whole place were wonderful. Camping Egad feels like a magical spot in the world, and I wish I could say more. You really have to come see for yourself how special it is ❤️ Thank you so much for having me.

We stayed in our tent and loved this little campsite in the middle of Favignana. It’s well placed for getting to the island’s nicest bay, and there are useful services on site, including bike and moto rental, a restaurant, a bar, and a small shop. The bathrooms could be better and feel quite old-fashioned, though they were always clean. I can’t comment on the rooms. I wish we could have stayed longer, and I’ll absolutely be back. The cannoli at the bar was a 10!

The bar, restaurant, and rental services are very good, and the staff are kind and helpful. For a campsite, it’s up to standard. It suits tent campers and people with RVs, and there are bungalows, rooms, and wooden houses too.

We had an absolute blast in one of the little cabins at this lovely caravan park. It provides the essentials, and you can pay extra if you want a warm shower. We loved our stay and will be back!
