The garden and pool were what made the place for me. There’s room to choose between sun and shade, with loungers, hammocks, sofas and cushions, and the aquamarine pool looks out over all the greenery. After coming back from the beach, the jacuzzi was especially welcome on those cool early June afternoons. Maria and Walter made us feel like friends, and we grew very fond of them. The two nights went by quickly, but we left feeling properly recharged. I booked through the website, and the photos hadn’t prepared me for the place: tall metrosideros create little courtyards between the room entrances, set against the low stone buildings. There’s also a large, airy shared veranda for relaxing or cooking. I saw a complaint about the distance from town, but it’s about an eight-minute walk along a dedicated path. And Giampiero is there to take you up and down to the village, so what more could you ask for?

The owners are kind, helpful, and quick to lend a hand with whatever you need. There’s also a prompt shuttle whenever you need it. A lovely, peaceful property where the friendly service really stands out. Definitely recommended.

We’ve been returning for ten years, and leaving still brings a tear to our eyes. Walter and Maria, with Giampiero helping out, are always available and smiling. When the group is right, they arrange dinner evenings and barbecues too. Levanzo feels wild and untouched, with that distinctive Sicilian landscape and none of the chaos. We call it “Neverland.” Residence Lisola feels like an island within the island, set on a breezy plateau not far from town, with a deep quiet around it.
