We were very disappointed with Villa Margherita. We booked several rooms together, but they varied a lot in quality, and none looked like the photos on Booking. The online garden photos are misleading too, since guests have to pay extra just to access it. During our three-day stay, nobody checked on us or cleaned or replenished the rooms. We ran out of toilet paper, and despite trying several times, there was never anyone at reception to help. Hygiene and maintenance were very poor, especially for an area with insects; one room even had small cockroaches. The pool also closes every day from 1 pm to 4 pm, for no clear reason. The so-called “relax area” was uncomfortable and had strange rules. On the very first morning, we were told we couldn’t eat or drink there, not even drinks bought from the hotel bar. That makes no sense. The place is very expensive for what it offers and doesn’t deliver the advertised experience. Definitely not worth the price.

My wife and I wanted a weekend away, and this place delivered. It’s close to everything, and with the e-bikes we rented, we could get anywhere on the island easily. The rooms and hospitality were second to none.

We visited the garden, a magical space tucked inside an old quarry. The planting is interesting, and the atmosphere is lovely.

The quiet was a real plus for our holiday. Coming back from the town centre, we could unwind in peace and silence, and the location felt like one of the best on the island. There’s a special mix of art and history here, too. The rooms felt dated and weren’t very well finished. I also expected more from a place presented as a boutique hotel. There’s no bar or coffee shop for a snack or drink, and having to ask for coffee capsules for the machine wasn’t very convenient. With some improvements, staying at Giardino dell'Impossibile could be a much better experience.
