Villa Norma Bed and Breakfast

This was a truly awful experience. The apartment was dirty and run down when we arrived. I booked the whole place through Booking.com, and it wasn't clear that there would be a €100 cleaning charge on top of the security deposit. The terms and the house itself say a cleaning fee applies if the place is left dirty, but they required us to pay it in advance anyway. We also asked to check in half an hour late because of traffic. They said they close at 6:30 PM and wouldn't wait, so we had to rush to get there on time. That made the whole interaction feel unhelpful.

Zero across the board. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I tried to cancel just 10 minutes after making the reservation, but couldn't. The room was unpleasant, with a heavy smell and a shared bathroom. There was no air conditioning, just a fan. You decide...

I'm Mrs. Naturale, and I'm writing because I booked the apartment. My partner, Mr. Grramegna, stayed at this awful property. Cleanliness was a problem, but the heating was the worst part. I had called several B&Bs to ask about availability for nine days, and the lady initially had none. Later that afternoon she got back to me with an offer: €40, plus €1 for the shared tourist tax. We agreed to pay by bank transfer. The next day my partner arrived, checked in, and immediately complained that the place was missing everything, especially warmth. He got in touch with the lady, who said they'd talk the next morning. When he returned that evening, the radiators were cold and he told her he couldn't sleep in those conditions. She replied that he could leave, so he did. The lady kept €80 for that one night. She refunded me the rest, taking out both the €80 and another €1 for the transfer fee.

Even in the heat, I slept really well. The woman who runs the place is lovely and attentive. The price was excellent, so I'll recommend it to my colleagues... maybe.
