Casale Valentini

The place has been left to deteriorate, and none of the photos on the website or booking.com matched what we found. The rooms were old and dirty, the surrounding area was covered in cobwebs and filth, and there was no pool, restaurant, or pizzeria. Breakfast was poor and included discounted items. I don’t understand how booking.com allows this scam. It’s a shame, because the place has real potential, but stay away.

We only spent one night here because Le Vigne, where we had booked, was full when we arrived, so they arranged this room for us. The owner greeted us rudely. Then we found a room that looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in a year: plaster was coming off the ceiling, cobwebs filled the ceiling beams, the bathroom light didn’t work, and cold air came through the windows. On top of that, there were bedbugs and ants. Not recommended!

After one night, I can’t recommend anyone stay here. The room was filthy, with cobwebs and insects on the floor, a ceiling falling apart, and bed covers that smelled. It seemed like it hadn’t been cleaned for months. Really awful.

We paid €80 for an attic that was absolutely unpresentable. The roof was very low, and there were all kinds of insects. We’re used to rustic places, but this was dirty, dark, and neglected. There was no privacy at all. Every voice and noise from the neighboring rooms came through clearly, even sounds from the bathrooms. There was a wonderful, though inexplicable, sink on the living room desk. For the first time in my life, we left without even sleeping. Thank God, we had friends nearby who could host us.
