Il Gelsomino

The hosts’ courtesy and warm welcome really stayed with me. The owner was also very kind and recommended some excellent nearby restaurants, which made our visit better. Il Gelsomino Bed and Breakfast was the standout among the three Milan hotels I stayed in. The room was spacious, nicely furnished and decorated, and the comfort and cleanliness were well beyond what I expected. Their airport shuttle was a big help and cost less than a taxi. I’d highly recommend staying here if you’re visiting Milan.

It’s a super clean house, and guests can use the kitchen. There’s a grocery store about a 15-minute walk away, a self-service laundromat seven minutes away, and a nice restaurant in town. The owners are very nice, and it’s an ideal place when flying in or out of Milan airport. They do offer a shuttle, but I arrived at an odd time. For a taxi, follow the airport signs for the train, then go outside the train station to the local taxis. Taxis by the departure area are for trips into Milan. The local taxis take credit cards and use a meter, and my fare was only €20.

Conveniently close to the airport, with a supermarket, several bars, and pizzerias all within walking distance.

We had trouble reaching the owner on arrival day because our AirBnB app messages weren’t getting replies, though luckily we were able to check in. They offered an airport shuttle for €25, but we didn’t receive a receipt. The room itself was clean and comfortable, and there was A/C. Breakfast was only snacks, coffee, and a juice box, which felt a bit misleading. The place was nice and clean and we felt safe. There aren’t many restaurants nearby, though the cute pizzerias were excellent.
