Il Mascherone Bed Breakfast

I've never had a host show so little hospitality or kindness. We were driving from Croatia and, three hours ahead, let the accommodation know that heavy traffic meant we couldn't get there by 6 PM. We asked if they could wait or leave the key somewhere convenient, even suggesting a nearby café. We also offered to send photos of our IDs so nobody would have to wait for us. The man told us it wasn't his problem. Almost everything in town was booked, and I explained we had nowhere else to go and our children might have to sleep in the car. I begged for help, but he wouldn't help us. I found someone who could collect the keys for us and pass them on later, but he refused that too. He said the keys had to be handed to us in person and we had to arrive by 6 PM to stay. That was physically impossible, as I told him, but he kept saying he didn't care and it wasn't his problem. Then he stopped answering my calls, no matter how many times I tried. Booking.com later asked him to approve at least a refund because he wouldn't allow a late check-in, and he refused that as well. Shameful. I absolutely do not recommend this place and strongly advise avoiding it.
