Le Case Cavallini Sgarbi

Just a few steps from the castle, the location is wonderfully central. The staff are discreet but ready to help, and the cleanliness and order are almost obsessive. The place feels like staying in a grandmother's home for a few days, familiar and comforting. The Cavallini Sgarbi homes are carefully put together right down to the linens, furnishings, and paintings. Perhaps the homes were first designed for another purpose, maybe for artists looking for inspiration, but that's only a guess. The value for money is excellent. I'll definitely come back. Recommended.

The owner was friendly and helpful, and the price was reasonable. I stayed in the "Vittorio" apartment at Le Case Cavallini Sgarbi, right in Ferrara's historic center. It's a beautiful old building that's been kept in good shape, with vintage-style furnishings chosen with real care. The apartment still feels functional and up to date despite its age. The kitchen had everything, including a toaster and espresso machine, and the phone charging dock was especially handy. I'd recommend it, especially to anyone who loves art and antiques. It couldn't be better.

The Cavallini Sgarbi family palace is a magnificent old building that holds memories of both families. As Elisabetta Sgarbi recalls, it was where her and Vittorio's father met their mother, and their love lasted through the years without fading. The palace also hosts public events, including book presentations and conferences on a range of cultural subjects.

Such a lovely welcome in a place full of culture. If you're passing through Ferrara, it's a shame not to stop.
