There’s a lovely family feel here, thanks in part to the friendly, helpful staff. Paolo, the maître, and the rest of the team deserve a special mention for always being so pleasant and attentive. It’s a very good hotel for relaxing in beautiful surroundings, with plenty of nearby hiking trails. If you’d rather take it easy, there’s a park, pools, and spa facilities. The rooms are comfortable, and the restaurant serves dinner with a vegetarian option, which isn’t always easy to find.

We were traveling as a group, and one meal wasn’t included in our tour. Nobody told us beforehand. The food was inedible, and when we raised it with the hotel, I believe the owner was at the front desk and said they’d eaten the same meal and found it fine. If you run into a problem, I don’t think management will care. Avoid this hotel if you expect service.

4/10
We went for dinner, but the food was mediocre and the service wasn’t friendly, especially, it seemed, toward people who didn’t speak German. The owners let their two giant German Shepherds roam freely both inside and outside, without regard for other guests. I found them scary, and the situation felt potentially dangerous. I can’t recommend the place.

The buffet appetizers were great, but the other dishes on the fixed dinner menu weren’t good. Our meal for two cost 80 euro, and although the setting was okay, finding mould on the apple strudel made for an awful experience.

The balcony room was spotless, with a wonderful view, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent too. The only little drawbacks were how close the toilet and shower are to each other, and that there was no coffee in the room. Otherwise, the room felt five star.
