Residence Fiesole

It's a quiet place with a superb mountain view, and the staff were kind and helpful. Public transport makes it easy and quick to get to Florence.

Fiesole is a relaxed, lovely village and a real gem just outside Florence. There's a little supermarket, pharmacy, cafes, bars, restaurants, a cathedral, a church, viewpoints over Florence, and Roman ruins. From the village square, bus number 7 usually takes 30-45 minutes to reach Florence, traffic permitting, with beautiful scenery on the way. The apartments sit in a secure compound and have plenty of room, including a large double bed, dining table and chairs, sofa, compact kitchen with a big fridge/freezer, good clothing storage, and a large bathroom and washroom area. The veranda has a spectacular view.

We could check in after reception had closed, and the room was ready with useful information about the apartment, getting around, and nearby restaurant suggestions. Parking was included, and they let us leave the car there after checkout while we explored Florence. Our apartment for four had the two big beds shown in the listing, unlike other places we'd stayed where the advertised setup turned out to be one big bed and a bunk bed. It was well equipped for a comfortable stay, with two clean, elegant bathrooms, a hair dryer, washing machine, dishwasher, and a small kitchen with its appliances and utensils. The residence had a very nice view, especially from the second floor rooms. I'd consider staying here again if I return to Florence.

Fiesole is a lovely town outside Florence, away from the crowds. After a long day trekking in Florence, sitting on the veranda with a glass of wine and that stunning location was a great way to end the day. Tommaso was attentive and helped with anything we needed. He even arranged a taxi in advance for our vineyard tour before we'd arrived in Italy. Having pizza nearby while watching the sunset is a memory we'll keep.
