Hotel Gambone

We stayed in room 22 as a couple for the weekend of May 24th and 25th. Its two sea-facing windows and lovely little balcony were a real treat, especially in the morning. The hotel is right by the water, a short walk from both public and private beaches, with restaurants, supermarkets, and public transport close at hand. The place has a simple, welcoming Italian holiday feel. Our room was clean, well kept, and had what we needed, including a handy shower kit. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. We also thought it was very good value. A lovely find, and we'd gladly return.

Right on the seafront in Finale Ligure, this 2-star hotel has spacious, comfortably furnished rooms. It's near the center, with plenty of amenities close by. Recommended.

The seafront location is excellent, right in the center, and the room and linens were clean. There were plenty of towels and toiletries, plus a hairdryer, TV, safe, and air conditioning. The food was home-cooked but far too simple for the price, and better meals are easy to find nearby. Breakfast cost €10 per person and had only sweet options. By 9:15 the cakes and pies were gone, leaving croissants, bread, and toast, even though breakfast runs until 10:00. We waited in case they brought more out, but they didn't. Instead, they were already setting tables for lunch. The same napkins from the previous night's dinner were still on the breakfast tables, with the lingering smell and grease of Ligurian-style rabbit and pasta with olive pâté. The shower door was broken, and there were no hooks or hangers, so the clean and used towels were all piled on the radiator. The value for money was poor. I won't comment on the staff's hospitality, welcome, or friendliness, since those are objective things, but I've experienced better in Finale Ligure.

The rooms are cozy, freshly renovated, and spotless, and breakfast was excellent. The dining room is welcoming too. Matteo at the front desk was top-notch, and the service was very friendly. The hotel's right on the beach, a five-minute walk from the station, close to the beaches, and just behind the city center. The price is high because of the location, but I think it's worth it. Highly recommended.
