After a long day cycling, I arrived late at night and the hosts were amazingly friendly. They welcomed me into their huge refuge and served delicious homemade minestrone and goat cheese. Yum! I’d definitely stay again if I cycle through the Apennines.

We only found out after arriving, not when booking, that during our six-day stay we could take just one or two showers a week. Maybe that would make sense if we were sitting around indoors in winter. But in summer, after days of running in the sun and sweating, that rule was unacceptable.
It’s a magical place that has somehow avoided the ugliness that mass tourism brings. I’d thought places like this had disappeared. Turns out they’re still here. Thank you!
Mara looks after this place beautifully, and it’s a welcoming spot to rest. The breakfast was very good, and there are lovely walks nearby. I also saw a gorgeous starry sky here. I came for the mid-August lunch: excellent food, good company, and a fair price. Recommended. Lorena
