Hotel Iris Crillon

A cute place to stay in Fiuggi, and the best value for money in town. The owner speaks English very well and replies to emails quickly. He was well prepared to support sports events in the region and helped us a lot with logistics. He even suggested adjusting breakfast and dinner times to fit our schedule. It seemed that in winter people in Italy are used to lower indoor temperatures than we are in Bulgaria. It was like that across the whole region.

The room was nice and the view from ours was amazing. Staff were extremely efficient, and breakfast was fantastic, with homemade breads and cakes. If you're after an authentic, traditional Italian hotel, this is the place. Fantastico!

The hosts were excellent and the location was good, though it's a bit far from Rome. But I won't stay here again. If I return to Italy, I'll choose another hotel, the Best Western with a pool and less travel to Rome. The ground floor was great, and the hotel itself is nice, but my single room was terrible. The bed was only 2ft 6ins wide, more like a child's bed than a 3ft one, and the old, thin mattress made my back ache. I hardly slept. The wall lamp was almost falling off; the coat hangers were dusty, and I had to clean some before using them. The hairdryer was filthy. The shower cubicle was only 2 and a half inches square, and I had to squeeze in because the door wouldn't open fully with the shelf in the way. The door was filthy, the shelf dusty, wallpaper peeling, and skirting boards missing with grey concrete showing. The room badly needs refurbishing. Breakfast was the same salad every morning, with no change.

Jean-Carlo was very helpful and informative, gave me good tips about local goods, and helped carry my bags over to my other area hotel. Breakfast was good and included, and the views were lovely. The room was clean, with strong water pressure, and the bed and pillows were very firm.
