Maison Rouge

We had a cosy, safe family studio, and the price was good. Communication was great, and everyone was friendly and welcoming. Grazzi Carlos.

The staff were really welcoming, and the rooms were good, though the walls are very thin. The airport transfer was efficient and cost 20€, but it’s a shame there’s no public transport. Calling this bed and breakfast feels generous: breakfast was more like a ration of processed food.

Reception was good, and the location works well for a beach stay or an overnight stop near the airport. The building is interesting, and I loved the garden, with its Roman statues, little pond, goldfish, and turtles. There’s also a kitchen and refrigerator. Breakfast was extremely basic. There were only apples for fruit, mostly packaged crackers and similar items, two fresh cakes that were good, and packaged juice. The rooms were fairly small. Ours hadn’t been cleaned well, and the floor was dirty, though the linen was clean. The bathroom and shower were tiny, really only enough space for one person at a time. For the price, it was okay.

There’s a great grocery store within walking distance, a few restaurants nearby, and a clean beach you can walk to. It’s very quiet, even with a plane passing every 10 minutes, and the sky views from the rooftop terrace are lovely. You can eat on the terrace, sit peacefully in the garden, or enjoy the pond with its colorful fish and turtles. The kitchen is great for cooking for yourself, and there’s also a nice garden. It’s easy to reach, with one bus to and from the airport. Use the Cotral app for the bus. The staff were good and always smiling, especially the girl on the night shift. The place was very clean, but breakfast was very poor: no vegetables or dairy except milk, and cakes were the only food. Coffee and tea were okay, and breakfast is self-serve any time in the morning.
