Villa Le Fontanelle

We chose one of the former "lemon house" rooms at Villa Le Fontanelle for a night after our Tuscany tour, partly because it's close to the airport. It became a lovely memory. The room was among the largest and most incredible we've stayed in, with a huge, comfortable sofa bed our child loved and little touches like toiletries. It was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Open the curtains and the Duomo (Cathedral) and the whole city are right there. It's quiet and peaceful, almost like heaven, and you can sit outside and take in the outstanding view. I wouldn't expect a full luxury hotel experience: breakfast was OK and some parts of the service could be sharper. Still, everyone we met was kind and available. The property hosts weddings, which may affect your stay and rest, so I'd ask about that in advance. Events tend to run from mid-April until the next fall. We didn't try the restaurant, though I wish we had, since the nearby alternative we chose was a flop. It's an incredible, relaxing property with an exceptionally comfortable, well decorated room. We sure enjoyed it.

As a videographer, I film weddings at Villa Le Fontanelle often, and the couples are always taken with the views. From the terrace, you get a spectacular panorama of Florence and the iconic Duomo. It's a breathtaking spot for a wedding, just outside the city. Giorgia is a pleasure to work with, delightful, highly skilled, and excellent at organizing weddings. I'd highly recommend the villa for an unforgettable wedding.

The restaurant on site is wildly popular and has breathtaking views over Florence. The hotel itself is a stunning boutique villa with only 7 luxurious suites, which gives it an intimate atmosphere. The interiors are exquisite, the pool is perfect, and every detail of the service feels carefully handled. It exceeded my expectations. If you find availability, book right away.

Villa Le Fontanelle is even more beautiful in person. The staff were kind, professional, and easy to communicate with, and they made planning my elopement ceremony here completely stress-free. Everything was perfect. I can't recommend the place enough.
