The hotel was convenient for the slopes, and the staff were polite. Still, I think people should know that 12 students in my son’s school group started vomiting after just two days there. I understand this may not have been the first case of food poisoning, or the last. I believe investigations are still ongoing, but most of the information is in Italian, which is why I’m writing in English.

I came on a school ski trip. On the second night, three boys from my school started vomiting and feeling tired. Another school from Italy was staying there too, and 30 of them got sick. More and more people were vomiting the next day. We were told it was motion sickness or not drinking enough water, then paramedics, doctors, and police arrived to test the sick students. They were kept in quarantine until the doctors worked out what was wrong. It turned out that over 60 people from my school and the other school had norovirus, and people were still getting ill as we left early Saturday morning. Everyone from the other school had left, and most students on our trip, plus some teachers, had felt sick. I don’t know the main cause, though we were drinking tap water from jugs. My friends and I also had a broken shower with mould on its floor, a leaking toilet with a broken flush, stained and dusty carpets, and hardly any working plugs. I’ve been moved to three different rooms and am still recovering from norovirus. The food wasn’t satisfactory either, and the staff were incompetent.

My son went on a school trip from Scotland last week. Most of the group, around 60 people, came down with Norovirus, starting within two days of arriving at the hotel. I know the Italian press reported that about 14-16 children were affected, but that isn’t true. It was most of them. There had already been an outbreak two weeks earlier that affected 200 people, yet the hotel clearly hadn’t improved its hygiene standards, and the infection spread again. My son and his friends had a miserable time, and some are still recovering.

The hotel looks pretty good, and the rooms were fine. But the shower only gave us cold water, which was a big problem. The food we were served also seemed questionable in both quality and variety.
