Hotel Gran Baita

The staff really made this stay enjoyable. Their happy, positive spirit, the good food, and comfortable beds all helped. The hotel is cosy and beautifully set in the mountain scenery, though it could use a little updating. I’d definitely visit again.

The beds were so uncomfortable, and there were stains on the sheets. The cleaner moved my belongings and actually took €30 from my wallet. On top of that, a woman who worked at the hotel would storm into my room and shout at me and my friends, without even mocking. Worst hotel ever!

A really nice hotel with friendly staff!

The hotel has a very rustic look, which gives it an authentic northern Italian feel. The room we were given, 409, smelled damp at first, but airing it out cleared the smell and it didn’t come back. The dining hall was mixed. The salad buffet had plenty of vegetables that tasted fresh from a can, along with trays of prepared salad. The meals were hit and miss, and the local dishes were much better, so I’d stick to those. For our final meal, they moved us from a perfectly adequate table to a small room full of skulls. The food came out carelessly and at the pace of a decapitated small. Staff were generally accommodating, especially Paola, who went to a lot of effort to help my family when we came down with a pretty nasty cold. The shuttle driver would also often go outside his scheduled hours when asked.
