We stayed for four days in June 2023 and felt at home with this family. Valentina was very kind, and Daniela, a sweet mother, is a spectacular cook. The apartments are spacious and cool, with a small fenced private garden. There’s also an indoor play area for children and animals, a nice attraction for families with kids. We couldn’t use the pool, which was the one disappointment, since we wouldn’t have wanted to leave it. Torre Mozza beach, with its crystal-clear water, is at most a ten-minute drive away.

We chose this agriturismo because of the good reviews mentioning its location, homemade breakfast included in the price, and the option of dinner every evening, which had also been confirmed during booking. The photos made the grounds look welcoming and tidy, and the Facebook page showed animals on the property. After we arrived and settled in, we asked about booking dinner and the menu. The owner awkwardly said that changes to Tuscan laws meant they could no longer cook, and breakfast wouldn’t be served either. There was a small coffee machine in the kitchen with packaged waffles and pastries, so breakfast was possible, but it was a far cry from the reviews and photos. We said we hadn’t been told, and she replied that she had told us and we must not remember. We felt made to look like idiots, as if we were ordinary tourists who didn’t understand anything. Since we didn’t want to go searching for another place, we stayed. Looking around, we found broken wooden slats on the bedroom shutters, and they were extremely dirty. We live in the countryside too. None of the lights in the bathroom mirror above the sink worked, one of the other two bulbs was burned out, and there was mold in the shower grout. The playground was old and unsafe. There weren’t animals on the premises apart from a few cats that wandered into the apartment. I don’t know what Follonica’s idea of a farmhouse is, but this wasn’t one. I really can’t recommend it, especially because of the way the food situation was handled. It’s too convenient to mention this only when guests have already settled in.

We spent only three nights here, but enjoyed it so much that we booked our August vacation too. This family-run place makes you feel at home, and they’re wonderful people. It’s surrounded by nature, just a few kilometers from the sea, and even my dog loved it. Breakfast is generous, with delicious homemade cakes. Dinner is worth mentioning too, from starter to dessert for just €25, made with simple ingredients and authentic flavors.

Agriturismo La Dolce Collina is tucked away in the quiet Tuscan hills, yet close to everything. It’s perfect for reaching the sea in five minutes, and even better for enjoying the peaceful scenery. The owners are lovely and accommodating. They arranged an extra bed for a disabled girl and a private garden for our dog. The owner’s mother makes all the meals herself using excellent local products. The food is exceptional, and she’s such a great cook and interesting person you could listen to her for hours. Prices are fair, everything is clean, and the apartment is fully equipped. There’s free private parking, plus plenty of games and a pool for little ones. We’ll be back!

We spent a fantastic week here, surrounded by nature and completely relaxed. I love animals and got to meet theirs, including a gorgeous cow that was love at first sight. Valentina welcomed us and made us feel at ease right away. Every day brought us to meet more wonderful people. Daniela spoiled us with her delicious food and treated us so warmly. The whole family works every day to care for the greenery and all the little details that made our stay so lovely. Thank you all for a wonderful holiday. My partner and I will definitely be back soon.
