Esprit D'Hotel Panoramico

The view and location are stunning, and cleanliness was very good. We stayed several nights, though, and it felt like we were mostly paying for the setting. A couple of staff members were helpful, but most weren't friendly, and some were pretty rude. Most couldn't speak ANY English, or seemed unwilling to. Parking was a problem. There are only a handful of spaces and very little room to turn around. A few times we had to use a tiny lay-by 5 minutes up the road, where finding a spot was lucky too. It didn't feel secure, and there was no pavement on the walk back to the hotel, which felt unsafe. The restaurant was just okay, not the exceptional food we expected from the advertising. My steak tasted burned rather than seared. Breakfast was basic and a bit bland: dry, probably shop-bought croissants, some cakes, a handful of cereals, a few meats and cheeses, and cold boiled eggs. One egg had a green yolk when I opened it, which put us off completely. There was only carton orange juice at room temperature, it ran out quickly and wasn't replaced. No hot food, or even a toaster to make something ourselves. The private room hot tub was great, but the lack of privacy was unacceptable. Soft, semi-sheer windbreak-style panels separated it from the frequently used public spa and jacuzzi area. They were only 5.5ft tall, so most people could see over them. There were people coming and going all day and evening, with noise and staring that made it uncomfortable at times. People could also look directly down from the top dining balcony, and lots of them did. A fold-out screen was available on the wall but didn't fully block the view, and the area could also be seen from a stairwell. The public hot tub right beside the room had a loud, constant pump drone day and night, with occasional boost noises that woke us. WiFi was very slow and intermittent. The bed and pillows were unbelievably hard and very uncomfortable. The hotel is relying on its views and location, and charging for them. It could do much better.

The lake views are stunning, and the pool and jacuzzi are beautiful. We found the staff extremely lovely, service was quick, and breakfast was very nice and included. Our superior room wasn't huge, but it had everything we needed, plenty of room outside, and a balcony. The hotel itself is absolutely amazing, and the price seemed extremely good for what you get. I'd recommend it to everyone.

The owners go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and the views over the lake and surrounding area are magnificent. The restaurant is top standard, and the pool and facilities are top-notch. A place not to miss!

We really enjoyed our stay and plan to come back. The food was well prepared, with some welcome inventiveness from the kitchen, and it wasn't the usual fare. Our room was cozy and well appointed. There were newly renovated rooms, a new infinity pool, a nice hot tub, and a new, very nice sauna. The gym, though, felt dated. The treadmills, bikes, and other motorized equipment needed repairs or replacement.
