Hotel Royal Sunset

A bit dated, but good value. The location is perfect, with stunning views from the sea-view rooms. Breakfast was lovely, and the staff were very helpful with our questions and requests.

The view and staff earned my three stars, along with the cleanliness. The sunsets are beautiful, the rooms are clean, and the staff were polite and friendly. It’s an easy walk to shops and restaurants. We didn’t try the terme, though other guests seemed to use it. The bed was really hard and the pillows were very thin. The bathroom is dated and needs updating, although the shower pressure and hot water were great. The shower itself is very small. Dinner at the restaurant is limited to bruschettas and paninis. You’re not allowed to bring outside food or drinks to your room, so you have to eat out each night or have a panini or bruschetta for breakfast.

The front desk staff were helpful, and the spa staff were nice too. The rooms are clean and fresh, comfortable, and have what you need, though they aren’t very modern. The sunset is in full view from the restaurant terrace. The spa is big and included, mostly indoors with a smaller outdoor pool. It was better than most hotel spas I’ve seen. I think it’s good value and worth a stay. Come for the sunset and spa, and skip the overpriced spa parks on the island.

The spa was really enjoyable, and access was free. We also loved breakfast and drinks on the terrace, with incredible sunset views. We stayed five nights and were amazed by how friendly and welcoming the staff were. Everyone went out of their way to make us comfortable. Highly recommend!
