Pensione Villa Mafalda

We've stayed in Forio for three years now, and coming back to Villa Mafalda is always a pleasure. The guesthouse is near the port and town center, and Chiaia beach is about a 10-minute walk away. The owners are wonderfully kind and make you feel at home. The rooms are large and always spotless. The food is delicious, especially the bean soup with mussels and Ischian-style rabbit.

A lovely place for some time away from the city routine, with space to relax, enjoy the sea, take walks, and eat excellent food. Daniela and Franco are attentive to their guests, impeccable in their care, and always kind. The rooms are spacious, clean, and equipped with every comfort. We’ll definitely be back.

It's a small, family-run hotel in a good spot for staying in Forio. The staff are friendly and the place is fairly clean. Breakfast is what they call "European standard"; dinner is two courses plus dessert, with no buffet. Wi-Fi is unreliable and runs at around 1 Mbps. There's a small refrigerator shared by five rooms on the landing. The island buses don't stick to their schedule, so leave plenty of extra time for trips. If you're planning to visit other places every day, don't count on the bus timetable, it's unpredictable.

A highlight for me was the food in the garden gazebo, where breakfast and dinner are served. The homemade dishes are outstanding, and I still miss the homemade (!) yogurt with homemade jam, plus the delicious bread and selection of cold cuts. The owners are exceptionally kind and friendly, and the host is a superb cook who uses excellent ingredients and puts love into the food. The guesthouse is charming, with a good central location that's still quiet. The pretty village center and the sea, with its fantastic viewpoints, are both just a two-minute walk away. The sunset is a daily treat. Rooms are spotless, comfortable, and have beautiful views; the garden gazebo feels like an oasis. In my opinion, this place beats any larger mid-range hotel, and the very fair prices make it easy to stay longer and relax. A place to feel good. I'll be back.
