Villa Eleonora

We left after five days of the eight we’d booked because the accommodation was awful, even though Formia itself is worth visiting. The owners live upstairs and seemed controlling. When we happened to come back while they were in our rented room, we packed up and left. It’s such a shame for a holiday to go so wrong. 🤯 Booking.com also let us down completely when we tried to cancel and find somewhere else. We had to cut our trip short and are still waiting for a callback. We’d booked holidays through them for five years, and everything seemed professional as long as nothing went wrong. When we finally had a problem, the staff seemed overwhelmed and kept sending us in circles. In the end, Booking.com left us out in the cold with nowhere to stay. This was the last holiday we’ll book through that platform.

The place is welcoming, the owners are very kind, and it’s just four minutes from both the center and the sea. What more can I say? Excellent, I’d do it again.

A day after we booked, they called to say the rates were wrong. I agreed through Booking.com to pay the difference and keep the reservation, no problem. Then, a month later, the owner called to say that because of COVID they wanted guests to bring their own sheets and towels, though that requirement hadn’t been mentioned anywhere. In the end, they canceled our booking without giving a reason. Not serious.

Friendly, helpful owners. I’d definitely recommend staying here.
