Villa Grey

The beach was magical, and the walk into town was manageable. We had a lovely four days here, with all the comforts of home and thoughtful details throughout. Breakfast was very good, especially the focaccia. They even make a whole wheat version, which I'd never seen before. The staff were always available and very supportive. Thanks for all your efforts, we hope to return next year.

We really liked the beach club, and there are free bicycles to use. The streets have wide cycling lanes, too. This is a chic, very nice hotel with an ideal spot a few blocks on foot from the town center. Service was outstanding. After dinner at a restaurant in town, they'll even send a car for you.

The food was good, but it didn't compare with last year's visit. The waiter arranged a sort of discount, though the manager's refusal to see anything wrong in how he acted was deeply disappointing. We cancelled our reservation for another night. We'd loved this place when we came a year ago, so the drop in service was upsetting. At the restaurant, loud music and computer games were coming from a neighboring table. We politely asked to move. The waiter said he'd check with the manager, who never answered us and carried on as though nothing was happening, saying they'd asked the other table to turn down their computer games. This was a Michelin Star restaurant, and that noise was being tolerated. We had to ask several times, even though five tables were empty and three stayed empty all night. They said they couldn't call the police about people playing loud music. We said for the fourth time that we understood and only wanted another table. The manager refused again and said we could move after our pasta. We picked up our plates and went to an empty table, and then the staff let us sit there. After that, the manager ignored us and left the staff without guidance, and they no longer seemed to know how to behave. At least the staff apologized. The manager didn't think it was necessary. The restaurant manager, Fabio, was absolutely rude.

The rooms were amazing, and the location in this area is the best. Spectacular service and food, too. I'll be back as soon as I can. Special thanks to Cosimo, Gianluca, Laura and Luca for the excellent 5 star service. Thank you!
