B&B L'Arancio

We’d stayed at L'Arancio once before and had a good experience. The apartment was pleasant, with an outdoor area shaded by an orange tree. This time was very different. We hadn’t booked through Booking.com. The owner told us shortly before arriving that there would be work on the building entrance, but once there we found workers also on the apartment terrace, climbing over the barrier, as well as work going on in the apartment above. From 7:30 AM people were on the terrace, so we couldn’t open the bedroom French window, and the noise went on until 7:30 PM. I complained and got a discount, but we still had to leave the apartment for the rest of each day. We couldn’t even have lunch there one afternoon. The owner took my complaint badly and said guests leave in the morning and come back in the evening, as if I had no right to use the place as I wanted. Neighbors told us the building work had been scheduled for December 2024. I also couldn’t complain to Booking.com, though the owner said they would have dealt with it. The first time, the apartment had all the equipment and thoughtful touches. This time we had to ask for a pan big enough for two, and the few solutions offered weren’t suitable. Change apartments? Where were we supposed to go? If the place can’t be rented out, don’t rent it, even to make a few euros.
