Sonia welcomed us back three months after our first visit, this time with Christmas decorations that made the place feel magical. My partner and I had spent time here the previous August and loved the beauty Sonia had brought to an old trullo. If I could rate it ten stars, I would. The welcome is wonderful, and there’s real elegance and professionalism. Congratulations to Sonia for her persistence and determination to believe in the area.

We spent a week here as a family, and it was a pleasure. Sonia is a wonderful host, with thoughtful touches ready for our arrival and loads of suggestions for restaurants, bakeries, sightseeing, shops and beaches. She speaks French fluently too. See you soon! 😘 The trullo, renovated by Sonia, is magical, simply and elegantly decorated, and has all the comforts we needed. It has two double bedrooms, one with an adjoining room and single bed, so it sleeps five, plus two bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen-dining room, a living area and a study space. Every room has air conditioning. The grounds have charming secluded places to unwind, and the small pool was lovely in the warm weather. The location worked really well for exploring: Brindisi airport is 30 minutes away, Ostuni, Grottiglie and Martina Franca are 20 minutes away, Lecce is 40 minutes, and Matera is an hour and 20 minutes. The nearby villages are charming and still feel untouched by mass tourism.

Trullo Starbax sits in quiet countryside, close to some of Puglia’s best-known attractions, with the sea nearby. The ancient stone pool is just right for cooling down when it’s hot. Stone and red earth give the place a magical feel, shifting through different colours and moods from dawn into the night. It’s a breathtaking spot for spending time in the heart of Apulian culture.

It’s the most beautiful trullo I’ve ever seen. Everything is carefully tended, and the place feels unique, peaceful and distinctly Apulian, with olive trees, fig trees and red earth all around. A corner of Puglia in every way, where you can relax in the hot tub and take in the beauty, tradition and magic.
