Masseria Don Giulio

Ian and his family were wonderful hosts. His restaurant suggestions were all excellent, and by the end we were joking that we'd only go somewhere if the family approved it. He was always around when we had a question or needed help. We stayed in Gelso and Fico as two families of three, and the apartments were just the right size for families with small children. The rooms were comfortable and well stocked, and the grounds are stunning, with a large, beautiful pool. Masseria Giulio is in a peaceful rural spot, yet about 30 minutes from lots of sights, towns, shops, and beaches. We had a wonderful southern Italian holiday and will definitely return.

The owners are so nice and helpful, and the garden, pool, and barbecue area make it easy to enjoy meals in the shade. You can even pick lemons straight from the trees! The Masseria is lovely, a great spot for the sunny Italian weather. Every apartment was clean, comfortable, and fully equipped. Heaven on earth.

We came as a big group of friends and had a fantastic time. Ian and his family were great hosts, and you can even buy their homemade olive oil. Thanks for having us!

The owners, Ian, Lucy, Millie, and Freya, were so kind and helpful before, during, and after our wedding. We even got to use lemons and olives from the garden for the decorations. My wife and I celebrated our wedding at Masseria Giulio in June 2024, then spent a wonderful holiday there with lots of friends after booking the whole Masseria. We stayed for a week and a half, and it was a magical experience. The garden was a real highlight, peaceful and beautiful, with all kinds of fruit and vegetables that guests could pick. The property itself is stunning. The rooms were beautifully furnished, and we had some catering and lovely gifts for our guests. The pool was fantastic, with toys for volleyball and other fun, and there was also table tennis and a barbecue. Apulia is gorgeous, and by car it was easy to reach places like Ostuni, Oria, the sea, Francavilla Fontana, and Lecce. We recommend having a car to explore. Ian also arranged a great wine tour nearby. We miss Masseria Giulio already and can't wait to come back. It's a gem for a getaway or a dreamy wedding venue.
