Agriturismo L' Agrumeto

We found the agriturismo easy to get to from the SS106, and its location worked well for visiting the area: Villapiana is 5 minutes away, the Cerchiara spa with the water lily caves is 10 minutes away, and the Madonna delle Armi sanctuary is about 40 minutes away. The countryside itself has a lovely charm, and our week there felt really restful, thanks in large part to Rita and Nicola. They were kind, helpful hosts who made my fiancé and me feel at home. Our room was comfortable and clean, with air conditioning, a small fridge, a hairdryer, and a TV, and the bathroom looked like new. Breakfast was simple, tasty, and made with local products.

Rita and Nicola were incredibly hospitable. At our request, we got a tour of the well-kept farm, and Nicola had plenty to tell us about it. He greeted us warmly, then brought out iced coffee from the freezer along with limetta and limoncello for us to try. He and Rita grow lemons and limes there. They don’t speak English, but Google Translate worked well enough for us. We had a lovely mountain view from our fully equipped room. We’d read an earlier review saying there was no WiFi, but there was, and it worked very well. Rita made a fantastic breakfast each morning: delicious coffee, figs with cheese and a chili pepper, tomato rolls, egg with zucchini and onion, and her famous cakes. We had to taste them all. Anything we couldn’t finish was packed in a bag for us to take along. We had a wonderful stay. Thank you for being such kind hosts!

The rooms were spacious, cool, and very clean, and the owners made us feel so welcome. Mr. Nicola was ready to help with anything, and his wife made wonderful breakfast desserts. The property is surrounded by nature, yet only a few kilometers from the sea. It was peaceful and lovely for a romantic weekend. I stayed two nights and wished I could have made it two weeks. I’d gladly return and highly recommend it.

From October 1st to 4th, we had a short, busy, and really enjoyable stay at the farmhouse. We put together a surprise birthday party for our son, who lives and works in Calabria, and Rita and Nicola did a lot to help make the surprise a success. They were so generous and welcoming throughout. We’re grateful for their wonderful hospitality.
