Hotel Tyrol

We loved starting each day with the healthy, delicious breakfast and coming back for dinner. The food and service were outstanding. The hotel is gorgeous, with breathtaking views, and the whole place felt peaceful and magical. We had a spectacular stay and can’t wait to return!

The surrounding nature is hard to put into words. The grounds, garden, reception, furnishings, pool, bathrooms, and shared areas were all really well maintained. Parking was super convenient, too. Prices seemed reasonable, especially with the discount for a long stay and the small, very reasonable extra charge to include breakfast and, most importantly, dinner. The website has the details. I can’t comment on the rooms or the restaurant quality, since this review is about last week’s experience. What I can say is that after an afternoon at magnificent Odle, we wanted to experience the mountain respectfully, walking up on our own legs rather than doing the fast-food version of photo tourism, which we hate. We ended up with no choice but to turn the car around and drive back down the valley. As a last resort, we honestly asked the male owner for a favour and explained the situation, without expecting much. He saved our day. His kindness and effortless helpfulness left us speechless and did Südtirol’s lovely people proud, despite what you might read on social media. Speak honestly and respectfully, and you’ll probably be treated the same way. We also met the female owner over an afternoon aperitif. She was kind and professional as well. I really love their philosophy. All the best from Switzerland, and keep going! 💪 I’m writing this on my own, with no request from the hotel. Just wanted to say thank you and encourage people to consider this place as very accountable.

The restaurant service and dinners were good, which helped a little, but the rest of the stay was disappointing. When I arrived, the hotel couldn’t find my reservation, even though I’d booked a specific room a month earlier, paid a deposit, and had several confirmation emails. The staff spoke to me brusquely, as if the mistake were mine. Because it was high season, my room was already occupied. They put me in an apartment in a less appealing building, and only for two nights instead of the three I’d booked. The situation could have been handled much more politely and efficiently.

The food was spectacular, and the breakfasts and dinners were the best I’ve ever had. There’s also a great selection of wine and drinks at good prices. The staff were really friendly, and the location is excellent for hiking trails. It’s so quiet and relaxing, with amazing balcony views. Our room smelled lovely, like wood, and the bed and pillow were comfortable. The spa was nice and very clean. The ceiling vent and window remotes worked great. The blanket was a bit too warm for use outside winter, though. We had an amazing time and will be back.
