The evening food was fabulous, with fine, inventive local dishes, and the staff were wonderful. The location is ideal for getting around this part of the Dolomites. After a long day hiking, the sauna was a welcome treat.

If the hotel doesn't want people coming in, it should put clear signs at the main entrance or lock the door. The signs were tucked away in bushes off to the side, and the door was open. When someone comes in because the signs aren't clear, staff could simply tell them where the public toilet is. We had considered staying for three nights, but we’re going elsewhere now. Edit: That response is simply false. There was no clear sign at the main entrance. There was a sign, as shown here, saying the car park was for guests only and listing the restaurant opening hours. I wasn't a car, I didn't park there, and I wasn't looking for the restaurant, so the hours weren't relevant. The only sign was at the side entrance, which you can't see when walking uphill from the lower car park. The way I was spoken to was unacceptable. Put signs on both sides, lock the door, or stop treating people as if they've committed a crime. That was far from professional. I visit hotels and other places all over the world every year, and nobody has treated me like that, whether I was a guest or not.

The spa was even better than the website made it sound, beautifully designed and wonderfully peaceful. After long days outdoors, our quiet, cosy room was just right for a good night’s sleep. There are hikes you can start right from the hotel, and more you can reach by a nearby bus. It’s also easy to explore by car. The 3/4 pension is thoughtfully arranged, with generous, high-quality meals throughout the day. The food stood out, too, with fresh local ingredients and creative dishes that really reflected the region. From the moment we arrived, the team was professional and genuinely welcoming. A lovely, relaxed mountain stay.

I only wanted to use the restroom. An aggressive employee came out yelling that it was for hotel guests only. The sign saying so was hidden in the bushes, and I simply hadn’t seen it. The nearest other restroom is a 10-minute walk away, which is a real problem when you urgently need to go. Why not charge €10 to use it? The hotel would make money, and people wouldn’t have to hold it in. I’m giving one star because the guard frightened me and almost forcibly pulled me out of the restroom. I hope he finds himself in a similar situation. Blaming the church for you refusing people access to the restroom doesn’t help your reputation. If I’d been able to use it, I might have considered coming back to the valley and staying at your hotel. Now I definitely won’t. You need to think ahead instead of so narrowly. The church seems to have been there before your hotel, and I assume you built the restaurant and hotel because this is a popular spot.
