L'incanto

Only a lovely, very professional woman on the staff made our experience at the Incanto worth two stars. Otherwise, it was mediocre at best. We felt pressured to order starters and desserts, and the staff seemed unhappy when we said no. The food was mediocre too: the spaghettoni was incredibly greasy and tasted far too strongly of anchovy. The carbonara felt like an insult to Italian cuisine, with no cheese flavor and tuna in place of the meat, which overwhelmed everything. The raviolo was okay, but its tomato sauce tasted canned and the ravioli were bland. At arrival, a man greeted us with earbuds in and kept them in all night while serving. His attitude made us feel he didn’t care, and when he wasn’t talking to customers he was on his phone. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We took a wrong turn off the Amalfi coast road and ended up at this restaurant, run by two brothers. Glad we did! The service was impeccable and the food was the best we had in Italy. We sat outside on the terrace, with amazing views. Paradise!

The staff made me feel looked after by friends. They’re incredibly friendly and accommodating, the service is unparalleled, and I came back for dinner two nights in a row. Their recommendations were excellent. The menu has seafood pasta that changes by the day, which is a nice way to try something new, along with pizza and traditional pastas. Save a little room for the lemon cake and espresso.

The free parking was easy to find, and the skyline views are stunning from a seat under the grape vines. We ordered grilled seafood, salad and spaghetti, and it was all very good. The portions were generous compared with many restaurants in Italy. Bring a jacket! This review is only about the restaurant.
