Hotel Calaluna

It was ok.

I liked the pleasant feel of the hotel, and the free upgrade was a nice bonus. I’d booked a single but ended up with a roomy, comfortable double. My only small gripes were that the croissants at breakfast were pre-packaged and you couldn’t tell what filling they had before picking one, and the showerhead in my room didn’t work quite right. Still, a good hotel.

The room had decent space, and the location works well for people traveling for work, with plenty of fairly spacious parking. But it’s right by a road, and the service felt nonexistent and unskilled. For that price, I guess you can’t expect much. The furnishings are what they are, and the outlet, the second thing I check, was tucked behind the bed where it was hard to reach without an eight-meter charging cable. The old convector heater only worked when it felt like it, though it did warm the room when it came on. The bathroom was a letdown too. Even when the room furnishings are a mess, a good bathroom can change the impression, but not here. They could definitely invest in something better. Even a showerhead that didn’t fall on your feet every time would’ve helped. And honestly, if breakfast is going to be served that way, they might as well skip it. They could give guests a five-euro voucher for a participating café instead.
