It’s hard to think of anything we missed during our stay. The pool is especially worth mentioning, and our communication with the host was quick and really pleasant. The villa is more than 100 years old and still belongs to the same family, who have kept part of its history and character while giving it modern equipment. It felt like one of the most authentic places we’ve stayed. We felt very comfortable and would recommend choosing it for a stay in the area.

Breakfast was generous and varied, served in a beautifully restored vaulted room. There were fresh traditional pastries and fruit, an excellent espresso machine, plus cappuccino and other drinks I don’t have. Filtered water was available, with bottles and flasks to use. Cosimo was present, kind, helpful, and very discreet. The two-room apartment on the top floor had a large terrace that was partly covered, and all the comforts we needed: a full kitchen, dining tables indoors and out, air conditioning, and a smart TV with Netflix, Prime Video, and more. The adjustable slatted windows allow total or partial darkness, and there are mosquito nets too. This historic Salento property has been renovated and furnished with real care and taste. It’s in the town center near shops, restaurants, and bars, with views into a peaceful courtyard. The courtyard has a pool, exercise equipment, a ping pong table, and plenty of loungers and sofas to sit in the pergola or porch shade or enjoy the sun. There’s also a vegetable garden, lemons, and plums. The sea is a 20-minute walk away, where you can swim from the rocks, or you can take a short, lovely walk through the Salento landscape. A sixth star would be deserved. Thanks, Cosimo!
The owner was so kind and helpful, and the place was lovely and clean. Thanks for everything.
The owner was so kind and welcoming, and breakfast was just right. The room with the mezzanine and the pool were both lovely. There’s a lot of history in the place, yet the welcome felt warm. We also had everything we needed for cooking and laundry. We’d happily recommend it and will definitely come back.
The pool area was peaceful and restful, a lovely spot for a quiet afternoon, though there were far too many mosquitoes. The rooms were spacious and very clean, but could use a few small bathroom basics like shower gel and soap. Breakfast was the one other slight letdown.
