The wine cellars were a highlight, especially the contrast between the traditional rooms and the James Bond-style vault. I still remember the 50&50 Chianti Reserve and Solare. The fresh pasta may have been the best I’ve had in Italy, and the staff made sure everything was taken care of throughout our stay. Capannelle itself felt like a little piece of heaven. Our room was charming and comfortable, the scenery was breathtaking, and the zero-edge infinity pool was stunning. I just wonder whether the wine will ever taste quite as good somewhere else. A stay I won’t forget, and one I’d highly recommend.

We couldn’t taste wines by the glass, but the knowledgeable staff helped us choose a bottle that suited us. Getting there from Gaiole in Chianti means a very steep walk, which is the only reason I wouldn’t give the location five stars. The views and garden make up for it.

We always come back to Campanelle when we visit Italy. The tour and tasting are wonderful, and the wine seems to get better every time. Next time we’ll plan ahead so we can stay there too. It’s just the best!

We fell in love with this place during our five days there. The views were stunning, and everything from the room and staff to the hot tub, wines, and breakfast was perfect. The one thing I’d change is the dining setup. Lunch means choosing a set menu and starting by 1:30 PM. After that, you can get a platter of meats and cheeses, which is delicious, but there aren’t à la carte choices for lunch or dinner. With those options, we could have stayed in and enjoyed the views without needing to go elsewhere.
