Breakfast was tremendous, and the restaurant food was decent. I stayed at Hotel Hermitage on a business trip. You can tell the hotel has been around for years, though it’s been tastefully updated over time. The location is probably its weakest point. Galatina isn’t much of a tourist hub, though there are beautiful things to see if you head out. And if you’re up for it, try the world’s most difficult snooker/billiards table: corner pockets are 2.5" and the balls are 2.25" in diameter. Sorry for the imperial measurements.

A car is advisable because the place is in a rural area. It’s close to Lecce and Puglia’s beautiful beaches, though. We had a fantastic stay, with well-equipped rooms, air conditioning, TV, WiFi, comfortable beds, excellent housekeeping, and a sufficient breakfast. Recommended.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday over our 10-night stay. The hotel is in a pleasant town, though there isn’t much going on, and you’ll need a car to explore the area. There’s a train from Galatina to Lecce or Galipoli. The staff, including Francesco and his team, were friendly, courteous, kind, and extremely helpful. Service was excellent, and they went to great lengths to make dining a pleasure. The restaurant food was excellent too. I’d definitely recommend the hotel for a short stay.

The hotel itself isn’t especially beautiful, but the rooms are okay, the staff are friendly, and the swimming pool is awesome. There’s also an amazing view from the roof.
