2519 Villa Domy by Barbarhouse

The location of Villa Domy in Baia Verde is excellent, central and well connected, but the house was in appalling condition. We paid for full service and found dirt everywhere: food residue in cupboards, hair in the shower, razor caps in the bathrooms, and mold on the mattresses and the sofa cover by the entrance. There was water on the floor in front of the fridge when we arrived, along with a strange smell. One toilet didn’t work at all. Some doors couldn’t be reopened after closing because their handles were loose. In one room, a shaving cream cap had completely blocked the sink drain, which says a lot about the lack of care given to bathroom cleaning. Security was another serious problem. Besides a small outside gate about 1.20 m high, there were two exterior bars, a window frame, and a reinforced glass door, but there was no proper key for the house. The main door couldn’t be locked, and only one of the two outside gates could actually be shut. We spent the whole week feeling embarrassingly unsafe. We told Barbara House, but they seemed unaware of the inconvenience and didn’t respond, apart from a receptionist who came on their own initiative and forced the faulty gate closed. The repair was done the next day, so we had to spend a night with the outer gate open and couldn’t leave when we’d planned. For what was provided, the value for money was decidedly poor. We strongly advise against this vacation rental.
