B&B Palazzo del Capitolo - By I Bastioni San Domenico

The sea view at breakfast was lovely, and the buffet is at Hotel il Bastone, which is managed by the team from Capitolo. They put a lot of care into making guests comfortable. This was my third stay in Gallipoli and my best one yet. The architecture is charming, the rooms are air conditioned and cleaned daily, and the beds were excellent, very comfortable and orthopedic. I'm picky about beds, so that impressed me. At il Bastone's reception, they found us an affordable deal at Bahia Verde with transport and sunbeds. They also recommended Giorgio NOLLEGGIO for a one-day car rental, with no tricks or surprises. I loved it and will come back.

Room 7 was huge, with two king-size beds, a sitting area, and a bathroom with a shower stall. The beds were very comfortable, and the room was clean and tidy. The hotel itself has a lot of charm, with rooms opening onto a plant-filled courtyard full of thoughtful details. The cleaning staff were especially friendly. Breakfast was a few meters away on a beautiful terrace. It was tasty, plentiful, and complete, with incredible ocean views. Everyone was kind, and my son and I had a wonderful stay. Thank you!

The main drawback was the rooms: they were clean and tidy, but quite small and a bit dated. We were told this was because technical restrictions on the historic building prevent modifications. Aside from that, it was well run by locals and good value for money. The B&B is in a historic building in the center of Gallipoli's old town. A woman who runs it made us feel at home, always kind and available for questions, and it was nice to chat with her in the morning. The rooms were spotless. Breakfast was excellent, served on a beautiful panoramic terrace at their hotel just steps away, with friendly, helpful staff. There is also a covered garage, handy after a day at the beach, and Massimo's shuttle service was very convenient for luggage on arrival and departure. He was extremely kind and helpful.
