I wouldn't recommend this place. I phoned to ask for a double room with a private bathroom, but was told they couldn't promise that, and would only see whether it was private or shared when I arrived. The woman on the phone got annoyed after I questioned this and hung up. I don't think that's a good way to treat people, especially with so many B&Bs in Gallipoli.

The owners were welcoming, and we're planning to return next year. We liked being able to enjoy Gallipoli without a car. The sea is 100 meters away, and there's a large terrace looking out onto the main street.

Be careful with this place. Its Booking.com reviews looked high, but my experience didn't match them. The owners were rude and unhelpful. Less than ten minutes after booking, I asked for a refund because other reviews said the bathrooms weren't private and the property wasn't clean, which I found outrageous for 2025. The woman was arrogant, stopped replying, and even refused to give us 50% back.

The one nice thing was the lovely view and very central location. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend this B&B. I booked after seeing all the amenities listed for Julia B&B on Booking, but when we arrived, the owner wasn't there. Another guest showed us around. Our room had no fridge, TV, or Wi-Fi, and there wasn't even a chair. After three days I expected fresh sheets and towels, but they didn't come. I asked for sheets and was told there weren't any, so I had to wait until another guest left to get them. The same applied to towels. After five days I bought everything myself, including a broom and cleaning detergent, because I couldn't keep my nine-month-old baby in dust in the room and bathroom. The bathroom was outside the room, and I kept finding the owner there whenever we went to use it. The lady didn't consider me and my husband humble for asking for sheets, towels and a little cleaning. After I cleaned, I found the shower tray was yellow, the shower head leaked, the drain was clogged, and the toilet and sink had the same problem. If you smoke, bring an ashtray, since there wasn't one on the outdoor table. I had to use a glass of water.

Breakfast was at a bar 700 meters away, not at the B&B. The ticket didn't even cover two cappuccinos, two croissants and service, so we had to add 60 cents. I paid €90 a night for this disgrace, partly because Booking.com doesn't check listings. This should have been listed under room rentals, and I intend to report it. The building itself is attractive, but it's about 1.5 km from Gallipoli Vecchia. There was no B&B sign, even on the intercom, which only showed the owners' surnames. Photos made it look as if the whole building was the B&B, when in fact it's one apartment. I doubt the B&B exists for tax purposes because the receipt stamp had no VAT number. The owners live in the home next door and use their own parts of it, so renting the rooms gives you no privacy. The rooms have nice neoclassical furnishings, but this is still their home: they use the living room, with furniture piled in a corner, perhaps because outside summer it is a private residence. The private balconies in the description don't exist. There's one terrace, occupied by the owners. The head of the family often sits at the table reading the newspaper, and in the evenings they linger there playing cards and inviting guests over. There was nothing private about it. The mattress was the most uncomfortable I've ever slept on. It was two single beds pushed together on soft bed bases from the 1960s, and I barely slept for three nights. The style was basic neoclassical. The bathroom was shared with the owners and everyone else. There are two bathrooms, and they weren't cleaned daily, with dirt left in places. There was a plastic shower curtain, signs around the house warning about charges for dirty towels, and annoying lights you couldn't use. The location is fine if you're living in Gallipoli, but inconvenient for visiting old Gallipoli, which is 1.5 km away. The seafront is a port, so yes, it's a few meters from the sea, but also only a few meters from a rocky cliff that few people use as a beach. The beaches and nightlife are in BAIA VERDE or farther north. We had to use the car every day. Parking is on just two streets, free with no time limit in some spots and paid in others, so it's in demand. From 7 to 10 pm, when people from outside town arrive, you can't find a space, even a paid one. We had to get changed in the car and clean up at a beach club. I attached photos of the balcony, furniture stacked in the living room, signs, the intercom and the parking lot, where drunk kids have fun at night by throwing bicycles and trash cans onto the ground. Honestly, stay away, there are much better options.
