Minimal Rooms

The location works really well for both the beach and the city center, and parking is free. It’s an elegant, clean property with hotel-quality linens. Our booked room with a balcony wasn’t available when we arrived, but the host offered us a quadruple room with a small terrace for a few days instead. Breakfast is at a nearby café and covers a cappuccino and croissant. They were excellent quality, though.

The room was nice and kept clean throughout our week, and it’s very close to Gallipoli’s historic center. But we’d asked for a different room type when booking. The owner said he’d move us after we mentioned it, but it never happened. We also asked for a clothes horse because we were in a seaside town, and that was promised but never arrived. Breakfast was included through a €2.50 budget per person at a nearby bakery, for one coffee and one croissant. The food was good, but we always had to pay extra, even for some kinds of croissants. On checkout morning we had to call the owner and wait for him to arrive so we could pay, since nobody was at the property. Absurd!

What a nice find! The rooms are comfortable, clean, and spacious, and the mattress deserves a special mention, it was superb. Our triple room with a sofa bed worked more like a two-room apartment, since the sleeping areas were separated, so it would suit friends as well as couples. Luca, the owner, was a great host and available around the clock. The value for money is exceptional, and the location is convenient: ten minutes on foot to the historic center, or five minutes by car and ten by bike to Baia Verde.
