Salento Palace Bed & Breakfast

I found the young staff unhelpful, and their understanding of the situation unusually poor. I arrived by bicycle in full cycling gear, and the young woman at reception began checking me in as if I planned to leave my full carbon bike out on the street. That only became clear after I asked some questions. She wouldn’t let me bring the bike into the room and couldn’t offer anywhere secure for it at the hotel. Luckily I hadn’t paid yet, so we could sort out the silliness before the conversation became particularly terse. There are a lot of touring cyclists in this area, so the hotel’s policy seems unusual. Be warned. The other hotels I used in the area were all fine with bikes, and usually had several other touring cyclists staying there too.
