Suite Porta Terra

The location makes it easy to get around on foot, with shops, restaurants, and eateries for all tastes nearby. The property is right in Gallipoli's historic center, opposite the fishing port. Our very spacious suite had meticulous cleaning, a bathroom with a good range of amenities, two color TVs, dual air conditioning, and three magnificent French balconies with a priceless view. The renovation seems recent and has captured the style, materials, furnishings, and colors beautifully. We're staying here now, and I recommend it to everyone.

August 22, 2024. We ordered an aperitif at the restaurant: a portion of raw ham, children's appetizers, and a bottle of prosecco. When it arrived, the oysters were rotten and hung off the fork, the shrimp were purple and still had their intestines, and the mussels were bloody. I thought the ham was rotten too and it tasted like sewer. I called the staff to take the order back and apologized. In the end I paid for everything, including the ham I returned. Shame on you. Never again, and I advise against bringing your children!

We had booked and paid ahead, but when we got there the property was closed. Nobody had called or emailed us beforehand. We rang the reservation number at the site and were sent instead to a run-down hotel outside the historic center. Definitely avoid.

The staff were super friendly and helpful, and I'll definitely come back. The property is clean, well maintained, and nicely furnished. Being at the entrance to the historic center makes it ideal if you don't have a car. With a car, you can conveniently park by the port, outside the restricted traffic zone.
