Casa Del Principe

I only wish I could have stayed longer. The views were stunning, and the price was hard to compare with other places. My room was large, newly renovated, and one of three in an ancient building. There are two more rooms upstairs from the breakfast room. The owners' mum made the best breakfast I've had, with so much care. There’s also a typically Italian restaurant right beside the accommodation, which I really appreciated after walking there.

While hiking the Via Francigena, I really appreciated this stop. Enrico and his mom were incredibly kind and accommodating. The room was lovely, with heated floors, the views were phenomenal, and breakfast was amazing. 10/10.

We were walking a few legs of the Via Francigena, starting here, and this was a perfect place to begin. The hotel staff were so kind and hospitable, even helping us arrange a taxi from the nearest train station. Our room was nice, clean, and cool, and the shower was good. Breakfast in the garden was fantastic and clearly made with love. I think those were the freshest eggs I've ever had! They also arranged dinner for us at L'Osteria Pinchiorba, where we got to know Gnudi pasta, something we'll remember for a long time. The city is charming, and its streets were quiet apart from the square full of locals. No influencers in sight. We'd definitely stay again.

Casa del Principe suits the laid-back feel of this area of Toscana, and Gambasi is a really pretty place. It's a great base for exploring the region. The rooms are cozy and nice, and the owners serve a simple breakfast in a romantic garden, with excellent coffee and easy conversation about anything with Enrico and his mother. Highly recommended as a bed and breakfast in this part of Toscana. Across the street there's a small restaurant with a nice little menu and local wines.
